Starting high school may sound a little scary, but just remember, you are not alone. There are hundreds of freshmen experiencing what you're feeling right now. Finding your way around school, fitting in, and finding new friends might sound like a big challenge. Just start off easy. Wake up early on your first day of school so that you have time to get ready. First impression is important, so remember to look your best. Don't forget to smile and lend a helping hand. Don't be afraid to be the first one to start a conversation. The people around you may be too shy to speak. The person you choose to talk to may become your true friend.
Be involved. You don't have to join every single club the school offers. Choose a club that interests you. Joining clubs can help you make new friends. It is good to get involved and associate yourself with more people. You will be able to learn many things from them, whether good or bad. High school is the first step towards becoming more mature. It is where you will experience many new aspects of life and learn many life lessons from the people you meet or the things you experience.
Having fun is important, but don't forget about your schoolwork. Your grades matter if you want to attend your dream school. Your GPA is a factor in determining your acceptance into college. A high GPA may also get you a scholarship into the college of your choice.
