Coming into high school, I was set in my ways and shunned the idea of getting involved because I was scared of being judged or becoming an outcast. However, getting involved in my high school extracurricular activities changed my entire life. The impact of getting involved in high school activities is truly immense because it changes the student's life in several ways. If I were to give on piece of advice to the incoming freshmen in my high school, I would tell them to get involved early and often because when a student does that it makes their high school experience even more memorable and enjoyable.
I would remind the students that are just entering high school that getting involved could allow the student to meet their possible life long friends. When a student joins a sports team or club they become a family with those who are also on the team despite grade or any other thing that makes them different. The time and work that these people put into their activity together allows them to become great friends with those around them. So going out and getting involved in high school early allows for the students to create bonds with their classmates that can last for a life time. This idea is the central reason why getting involved in high school is so vital and is important enough to be the thing that students are told as they enter high school. Furthermore, getting involved and making friends early in high school will allow for a more enjoyable next three years because the students will have something to look forward to and cherish.
Next, getting involved in these types of extracurricular activities because they help young students grow into responsible young men and women. Both sports and clubs teach students how to manage their time between class work and out of class activities. These activities make students learn to be hard working and creates an environment for them to learn how to work as a team or as a group. Furthermore, these activities allow students to grow and become better students and people because of the principles they teach.
