Thanks to Seminar by Hector - November 2020 Scholarship Essay

One thing that is told to every child in the world is that education is important. Most kids don't believe this until they grow up and are in high school when they are about to enter a new phase in their life. Others never understand the importance of education and go on to drop out and get full time employment. While I know that education is important, only one class truly taught me the importance of it, and how to pursue it. The aspect of my education that I am the most thankful for are my seminar classes. This is because they have helped with so many things such as helping me understand the importance of my GPA, preparing for SATs, and filling out documentation for colleges.

The first reason as to why my seminar classes are the ones that I am most thankful for is because they helped me understand the importance of my GPA. The first thing that this class taught me when I entered high school is that all of your grades matter. You always need to be trying your best whether you are a freshman or you are in your senior year. The higher your GPA, the better your chance is of getting into schools. This is one of the main reasons why my GPA is relatively high and why I am still trying to keep my grades up during my final year of high school.

The second reason as to why I value my seminar classes so much is because they helped me prepare for the SATs. When you look at the SATs for the first time, they look very different to any other tests that you have taken so far. Seminar classes helped me realize that these are just regular tests, and it isn't as complicated and hard as you may think. This class helped me study for the SATs and understand the concepts of the math and reading sections. I ended up getting a score of 1230 which isn’t the best, but it isn't a bad score either. Thanks to these classes, I am able to apply to good colleges.

This brings up the last reason as to why I am incredibly thankful to these seminar classes and that is that they have been helping me fill out documentation needed for these colleges. They help me out with anything that I need. In these classes we get help with the FAFSA, college applications, college essays, and scholarships too. If we have a question about anything, they are there to answer and solve the problem. They help us understand different terms that we haven't seen before and get clarification with anything that is confusing. Thanks to this, it has been an easy process filling out everything.

My seminar classes are something that have helped me a lot when it comes to the transition from high school to college. It has done a lot to encourage me to go to college and pursue a higher education. Without their help, I don't believe that I would be as well of as I am today.
