Online Learning by HANS - September 2024 Scholarship Essay

I have always loved learning. Even since I was young I have loved challenging tests of my knowledge. I also loved reading. As a kid I would stay up into the night reading books. I loved to dive deep into the fantasies of my character's world.
In high school I have picked up many different hobbies. These have included becoming a drone pilot, building websites, cooking, and photography. My favorite non-traditional way to learn about these things is by online learning and YouTube. I can really immerse myself into the topic and it is completely free. I have learned a lot about cooking on YouTube and the recipes that I make are from YouTube chefs. I have found success in this learning style though and have expanded my knowledge through it. To learn about flying drones I watched videos on flying and learned about different camera angles and photography shots. I have built a few websites and most of my learning came from online sources like articles and short courses. I find online learning very convenient because of the accessibility and practicality of it. It is also usually very cheap and is mostly free.
Even though it might not be traditional, I think that online learning has helped me and it has been very useful.
