Helping the next generation. by Hannah - January 2015 Scholarship Essay
Students around the world are trying every day to learn all that they can to make a better life for themselves. It is hard work but it is worth it. There are tens of thousands of teachers that are helping them achieve their goals. Every students is different, therefore they learn differently. If I could give one teacher a piece of advice to help me learn, it would be to be patient and interactive.
It can be hard to retain information that students are taught in a day, and even more so in the span of a week. I would advise my teachers to be patient when trying to get their students to understand what they are teaching. It takes a lot of time and a lot of work to make sure that what you are teaching is sticking in my brain. Patience is the key to ensuring that your student will be successful in their future educational endeavors.
Without stimulation, students won’t want to do anything. When teachers aren’t making their lessons interactive and interesting, then their students won’t take anything away from that lesson. I would strongly advise teachers to try their hardest to make learning fun and interactive to ensure learning in the classroom.
By trying to incorporate this piece of advice into teaching, I strongly believe that I, and many other students will strongly benefit from lessons that teachers are trying to teach.
