From the beginning of a child's school career, he is influenced in the way he thinks, speaks, and acts. Teachers, coaches, and peers are a huge part of a student's life. Students are constantly around these people, which is why they have such an impact on students. For me, this principle is true. Throughout my high school career, I have been shaped by the activities I have been involved in, the classmates that have been with me for years, and the teammates that have played along side me.

Extracurricular activities have played a huge part in my high school career. I have been involved in student council all four years of high school. The past two years, I have served as Vice President of my class. Not only has this position required leadership, but it also responsibility and creative thinking. Although I have always possessed these qualities, serving as a student council member has forced me to grow in these areas.

Another huge part of high school has been the people around me. Because I have attended a small private school for most of my life, I have been with most of my classmates throughout elementary and high school. School has brought me together with people that I will be friends with for the rest of my life. Also, by interacting with others, I have developed social skills.

Finally, by becoming involved in sports, I have learned to be a team player and overcome adversity. Sports require dedication and commitment. Because it is important to keep my grades up, I have had to manage my time between athletics and academics. Also, by being a member of a team, I have acquired skills such as perseverance and encouragement.

In conclusion, I have been influenced and shaped by my education journey through extracurricular activities, social experiences, and athletic activities. Each aspect has greatly impacted me through the people and ideas involved.
