Dark, closed, limiting. What am I? I am a box, made of cardboard just like every other box around. I look ordinary, but I have a dream. I desire to explore and break free. I know that thinking outside the box will aid in my growth and knowledge along with allowing me to be original.
To begin, coming up with new ideas and seeing new things expands my knowledge. In my high school composition class, my teacher Mrs. Marilyn Laliberte taught me that knowledge is power. The more knowledge I accumulate the more power, money, and time I will have. I could stay in my box and keep to myself if I wanted, but I choose to open it. I will open up and explore new ideas outside the box. Now, that I am outside my box I am seeing different personalities, cultures, and ideas. Exploring all these new things is adding knowledge to my life. Thinking outside the box is becoming aware of what’s around the community and how the human body can adapt to differences in the world.
Secondly, outside my box I am able to bring out my originality. I know that everybody, including myself has the capability of obtaining an unimaginable amount of information. Outside of my box I can express my opinions freely. For example, I will become confident enough to say that I disagree out loud. I will have the power to influence others. I will come up with new, creative ideas while exploring. I might not notice it right away but thinking and being outside of my box gives me power, life hands me opportunities and experiences. I will not stay inside my box; my box is open. I am exploring, gaining knowledge, and I am being original. I am not a cardboard box, I am a box covered in glitter with bold words stating “I am unique and powerful” because I am outside the box. Thinking outside the box allows an individual to gain knowledge, create power, and be original. Grab opportunities by the hand, explore new things. Outside is not scary, so get out. Get out of that dark, closed, limiting space. It is a necessity to life. Be you. Be Powerful, strong, and original.
