An Impact Can Last a Lifetime by Hannah - July 2018 Scholarship Essay
In most high schools and universities, there are more often than not individuals who feel left out and ignored, perhaps even bullied. Believing that they are alone in the world, they turn to unimaginable things to try to escape the pain. Being student body president means that you are representing your student body; your whole student body. This implies providing various legislation that will greatly benefit everyone, including the ones who get overlooked the most.
A way that I would hope to positively impact my school is by ensuring that those feeling lost and alone know that there is someone out there who cares and who will fight for them, working diligently to ensure the best possible outcome. Multiple topics I would touch upon are a proper representation of the whole student body, including those of various races, religion, and sexual orientation, conjuring up fun and entertaining activities and events to get students active, promote community service, as well as hinder bullying whenever possible.
No matter what, the students and their well-being must always be put first, such as a civil servant does. As anyone in government, whether school-related, federal, etc., knows, you cannot please everyone, regardless, changing the life of one person and making that impact, indicates a job well done.
