As a future educator, student, and teaching intern, I know that soft skills are important to the classroom and learning as a whole. However, I believe the most important soft skill is creativity.
When creatively thinking you unlock new possibilities in learning that were never available before. You see things in a new perspective allowing you to change minds and learn things in a different way than other people.
In school it is vitally important to creatively think. While most may say that school is a place for strict memorization with no space to grow creatively, I disagree. I believe that there are opportunities to creatively think in every class, everyday. In math you can discover new ways to solve problems, which may very well help other students understand a concept better than before. In English you can write and express yourself in a creative way, helping people connect to you, feel understood, and grow as a whole. In science you can make discoveries people never thought possible by asking questions. In history you can look back and find things that other people were never able to by putting yourself in their position. In arts classes you are free to be creative, and express yourself in everything that you do. While school may not seem like the most creative place on the outside, the possibilities are endless on what you can do when you think about it in a creative mindset.
Overall by creatively thinking you make a positive impact on the world around you whether that be big or small. It can change the way you learn and help others understand concepts that seemed impossible to them before. Not only impacting the education of your local community but education as a whole.
