Without a doubt the elective that has impacted my education and future the most has to be Marketing. To some this elective is just numbers, business news, note taking, and projects. To me it is so much more; it is statistics on how businesses are booming or failing, endless information on new products from rising entrepreneurs, jotting down information that I find completely and totally fascinating, and projects that turn information learned into experience gained.
Marketing does not just fascinate me inside the classroom. It has changed my entire way of thinking and how I observe the world. For example, when walking down the street I look at billboards and advertisements and can dissect why that specific company put their ad there, chose the colors that they did, I can pinpoint their target market, and so much more. Marketing has become the way I think and I simply adore it.
How has this elective changed and shaped my future? The answer, my friend, is so simple. I have chosen to major in Marketing in college because of how much it impacted my life during high school. I am forever thankful that I got put in a Marketing class freshman year so that my education and future career could be shaped around it.
