Science, My Life Changing Experiment by Haley - July 2016 Scholarship Essay
Science is the subject that has captured my interest and kept me wanting to learn more throughout my high school years. I would have to say that I have learned from my science classes the most. Science opens up your imagination with all of the possibilities that keep our world moving forward. The experiments can keep you on your toes and ready to learn. Science has helped me realize what profession I wanted to go into - nursing.
Science is such a broad topic, ranging from biology to zoology. My senior year, I had zoology, and it was one of my most favorite classes all through high school. I learned so many interesting facts in that class that it actually changed how I saw the world.
In high school, I was a very shy student, but whenever I participated in a lab experiment with my fellow peers, it really helped me open up and make friends. Science can teach people so many things, not just scientific data, but how to work with other people in experiments.
Science has taught me to try new things, and never to give up on something just because it was hard at first. It showed me never to give up until you get the results you need. An experiment may not work out the way it is supposed to, and you may have to make adjustments, but in the end, just keep trying different things until you get it right. Science is fun for people of all ages, and it teaches people that just because you are learning something, it can be fun too.
Overall, Science can be a difficult subject, but I feel it has pushed me to be a stronger student and a better person. I hope to use my previous knowledge and learn as much as I can from the next few years at college. My ambition is to use the information that I have learned, keep working hard, and earn a bachelor’s degree as a registered nurse. Then my dream of pursuing a nursing career will become my reality.
