Passion is the optimal word to explain my college goals. Passion is the point where one experiences a change-- from going through the motions, to having purpose. It paves the way for success and is what lead me to where I am now. I believe it is the main factor of change in lives and that there is certainty in the saying “if there is a will, there is a way.” Referring to that statement reinforces my ambitions and reminds me that all dreams can be made reality.
In second grade English class, my teacher assigned a project for the class to explain what their dream job would be. As a second grader, I decided that being a nurse and wearing scrubs sounded like the life I wanted to live; now, about to graduate high school and my future right around the corner, that dream has evolved into a plan to fulfill my purpose. I believe that passion drives people to great extents. Nursing is what drives me to work hard and be eager to learn.
An influential person once told me, “find something you love doing and make it an everyday reality, then everything else will work itself out.” That spark of interest inside of every individual is what fuels drive, inspires change and makes a difference. When worked for, the doors for opportunities open and the chance to leave a legacy emerges. I dream of using my skills for the benefit of others—weather it is helping one patient, or a whole hospital. Then, I believe my purpose will be fulfilled. Passion can lead to the impossible and I believe that starts with my college options.
