One skill I think is greatly missing in highschool curriculum currently is learning how to express oneself articulately and objectively. Some of the greatest influencers in history haven't accomplished their acts of bravery through violence or aggression, but through speech and words. Wars can be won, evil hearts can be transformed, relationships and relationships can be restored all with proper use of this small instrument in our mouth. That is why, in my opinion, learning a skill such as debating could be the most powerful tool given to a young person. I believe if debate classes were offered, the world would see a different generation. To become articulate, one must be well educated on many resources with which to cite his speeches. This takes a great deal of works but leaves am even greater impression on the audience. If debate class would be part of every school in America, the government would change. Young people would know how to speak for themselves and defend their beliefs instead of getting trampled on by more experienced speakers.
I have proven that the need to learn how to debate and communicate intelligently is vital to the health of any country. It is up to you to encourage this beyond simply an idea.
