My Senior Quote by Graci - November 2018 Scholarship Essay

I have taken a long time trying to find my senior quote and what I have decided truly shows how much I have changed during my high school experience. I have decided to quote, "I’ve learned from the bad times and was humbled by the good. Thank you for all of the great life lessons." In high school I have had good times and bad, I have cried and laughed, but most of all I have grown. I have played softball every year in high school and it has shown me the hard work and dedication that it takes to succeed. My coach taught us that perseverance is key to success on the field and in life. I have had some success on the field because of my hard work and heart and because of these successes I have pushed myself to be a better person and to be a better player.
I have also taken part in Think Smart Stay Safe, which is a nonprofit organization that informs children in a fun way of serious situations that are not right. One of the girls in my group told be about her story and how she was touched inappropriately by a family member and it was heartbreaking to hear this story. It took a toll on me and it was hard for me to understand how someone could do that to a child. This moment in my high school experience really taught me to appreciate what I have and my life at home, and it made me sad for these children that live in homes like this. Now I take part in many other activities to work with children and try to help them. It has also influenced my career that I want to go into.

High school is not always a fun place and it is hard to find a group to fit in with. High school has helped me find myself and to find who my real friends are. I am grateful for every lesson and every person that has come through my life during this time because every person has shown me something new and has taught me a lesson.
