From a very young age, I fell in love with music. Playing music, listening to music, and even writing music has come to make me happy no matter how I am feeling. I have come to make pursuing a career in music to be a huge goal for myself. So far I have been very successful. Not only did I start middle school band a year earlier than my peers, but I also earned a multitude of firsts on solo and ensemble pieces. I also earned a spot at the Illinois Music Educators Association district festival three years in a row for middle school and two years in a row for high school and I am hoping to earn a spot again this November. My musical achievements continue with the first chair spot for both middle school and high school.

Being a music education major is not an easy task. Not only will I have to take classes in music, but I will also have to take education classes and general education courses. To top that off I will have to work in order to stay debt free. Yet putting all of this effort into my college education will help me become the music teacher that I dream to be someday. It is going to be difficult sometimes, but it is well worth it to be able to do what I love for every day for the rest of my life.
