My Senior Quote by Grace - November 2018 Scholarship Essay
My senior quote would be "Do one thing every day that scares you." by Eleanor Roosevelt. This quote describes where I believe my success comes from. If I never pushed myself, I would never get anywhere. Doing things that scare me is what I can equate much of my success to. Whether it's applying for that job I didn't think I would get, or asking that one question that everyone else is afraid to ask, no harm ever came from pushing myself to do something that scares me. It has always ended in a way that benefits me and will have a positive impact on my character. It isn't until recently that I have discovered that going outside my comfort zone is important to my personal development. Since then I have tried to live by this quote every day in order to better myself and to be able to make the list of things that scare me a little bit smaller.
Even though it is natural to be afraid sometimes, the little things that scare me, such as asking questions and admitting when I need help, can get in the way of success. I have learned to ignore the fear and now I do things that scare me every single day. Although the things that scare me may seem small or irrelevant to others, facing even the little things that scare me will eventually allow me to overcome the bigger fears I may have later on in life.
