As our graduation day approaches, we have to set various goals, In which we strive to better ourselves. During adolescence, we have dreams in which one day we hoped to fulfil, and as we progress with our lives, most of these hopes and dreams change while others remained the same. As we grow up, we sometimes wish to endure the feeling of being a child all over again, where we have no worries. Unfortunately, that is not the case because we are constantly pushed and told that we’re capable of doing whatever we want as long as we put our mind and hard work into our studies. There are several scenarios that have impacted my world tremendously, some which have had a positive impact in my life today.
With college being right around the corner, knowing what we want to do for the future comes about and knowing what we want to do for the rest for our lives is a question we begin to ask ourselves. One of the biggest motivations I have today definitely would have to be my parents. Seeing how much they have struggled in the past to keep my siblings and I with a roof over our heads is something I will forever be grateful and admire them for. Coming into a new country and not knowing the language everyone is speaking is something new and frightening. However, my parents continued to push forward and sacrifice so much to give us everything we needed. Seeing how much they worked to keep us happy was something that shaped my dreams because unlike them, I have the opportunity to go to school and attain education and continue to live a successful life.
There’s no doubt that there’s a large amount of people out in the world struggling for whatever reason, some in which didn’t receive the opportunity to get the education and advantage some of us get today. Coming from a middle class family, I grew to appreciate everything I have and continue to inspire me everyday to succeed one day so I can make my loved ones proud and give them the world.
As human beings we all grow up with different backgrounds and struggles, which make us all unique. Growing up is inevitable and makes us realize a lot about ourselves that we may have not known before. We learn our strengths and weaknesses, and usually work to better ourselves in whatever way is possible. We know ourselves more than anyone, and for this reason we should set goals and expectations to always strive for more because there will always be room for improvement. Life's obstacles and actions shape who we are and give us aspersions to become better people.
