Challenging Belief in AP World by Fernando - September 2021 Scholarship Essay

To begin with during Sophomore year where i would take Ap world ,my understanding was challenger due to variety of reason such as self study, hard test and sleep less nights. Other effects could also include the starting of the Covid-19 pandemic that made school the last months even harder for people across the country.
During the beginning of the year this class had so much material that we had to do notes around15-20 pages in a week. It may not seem much but if this is also added to my other 7 classes including extra club this took so much time. During the class session it was mostly during Essay Prompt question or studying for a test and even a project. I would also add the environment of the classroom was very formal and i personally did not anyone. This put me art a disadvantage trying to working with anyone and asking for help if i did not understand something from the note
In addition too other challenges i face was being able to speak up with other people and the entire class. For example we had a group project about ancient civilization and how they use the tools they had during that era. I didn’t know before how to use proper communication skills and to be able to the teacher one on one. But due to that experience i was able to further understand and contributed to the person i am today. Furthermore e i would also like to add making friends was a beneficial thing for me because i was able to communicate with other and made the class easier for me.
In conclusion i would state that Ap world was one of the hardest classes but it was able to shape me to endure other classes that would be harder this year . For example AICE biology where i take daily 15 pages of notes and i’m used to it , i was able to overcome my challenge and my belief of not being able to do it.
