Within the last two years, ever since COVID hit, the only thing that mattered was to get decent grades and graduate. However, one person in my school in particular that cared about the students themselves along with their education was my U.S History teacher, Mr. Benson. Mr. Benson knew how to engage students and allow them to care for their education. Even though I was a great student, I had ups and downs where I doubted myself with certain subjects or just my education in general. He continually built me up and guided me to find the answers I needed within myself. He constantly reminded me that I was more than capable to do any of his work. In his class, I also learned how to be a great leader. I would engage other students along by quizzing them or testing them on information. In the end, we all passed his class and the test with a 5, which was the highest score to get.

Not only that, but Mr. Benson would teach us life skills. We discussed credit,buying houses, and other much needed skills for life. Mr. Benson made sure I was prepared for some subjects once I left his classroom. He built up my confidence and made my passion for learning come alive once more.
