Just Breathe by Faith - April 2016 Scholarship Essay

If I could give any piece of advice to younger students it would be to breath and have as much fun in high school as you can. Everybody says that your years in high school are the best year of your life so students should try to have as much fun as they can. After high school these students will be seen as adults. That in itself can be stressful, much less having to decide what career they want to pursue. Grades are important during high school, then again so is every test and quiz they take. I think that when you get stressed out and continue trying to work on the thing that made you get stressed you only get more stressed, and that is why I think that students should just take a breath.
During a student’s freshman and sophomore years they are just getting use to the idea of being in high school and getting use to the new workload that comes with it. After those two years students are then pushed to start thinking about SATs, college, and what type of career that they want to pursue later in their life. That is enough to stress anyone out. Which is why I just wish that somebody would have told me to take a break, breath, and go do something with your friends because all of those decisions will still be there in a few hours. Younger students need to know that they are making decisions about the next few years of their life, which takes time and is not something that the can just do on a whim. Just breath, go to a school sporting event and have fun doing something other than stressing about your future. Student’s need to have fun in high school, but also make sure that they keep their grades up.
