Role Reversal by Ethan - October 2016 Scholarship Essay

Hello, my name is Ethan Reed and I attend Bath High School. I am the current drum captain of the bath bands and I really enjoy science. If I were to specify, I really love biology. Biology is my passion and it is what I want to go to college for. The subject has interested me since I was a little boy. I grew up in a rural area. This rural environment allowed me to get very in touch with nature and wildlife. This eventually grew into a love of studying the varying organisms I came across. That is what sparked my love of the field. Now, I would like to become a conservationist and help all wildlife across the world.
If I were a teacher, I would teach biology. The reason I want to do this is so I can teach people about out interesting and complex our world is. Most people thing science is boring, and they don’t really care about it. If I could make people understand how complex and important the web of life is on our planet, maybe I could inspire a few people to help save endangered species. That is why I would teach biology, to inspire the next generation of conservationists.
