From a Coworker, To an Inspiration by Erin - October 2019 Scholarship Essay
A person who has inspired me academically, is someone I never would have thought to do so. This person is not a teacher, tutor, or counselor from school, like you might expect. This person is my coworker, Sarah. She has honestly changed my life for the better and has inspired me to work hard in school so I can be successful in life.
To start, during my junior year school got really stressful for me. I was working for 5 or 6 days a week and had long hours of homework every night . Sarah and I usually worked the same shifts. She started helping me with my homework and encouraging me to keep up my grades when I fell behind in school. For instance, Sarah was constantly pushing me to turn in my assignments on time and to stop procrastinating. Sarah is always checking up on me, making sure I’m getting my work done. I know she wants me to have a bright future.
In conclusion, Sarah is an amazing role model for me. She’s inspiring and intelligent. She got into UCLA and Pepperdine because of her hard work in high school. I’ve never had someone believe in me as much as Sarah does. She’s even the person who motivated me to complete this scholarship.
