The change I endured to succeed by Erika - January 2016 Scholarship Essay
To achieve success in 2016, I have to completely change gears and become focused. To do so, I have to find a source of motivation. I keep hearing, "the GPA at the end of your junior year is the one you send to colleges!" I believe that's motivation enough, to improve my GPA.
But, that's not my New Years resolution. My resolution for this new year is to be happy and not fill myself with doubt. In recent years, I would always tell myself, "you can't do that, you'll fail." In this upcoming year, I'm going to tell myself, "you can." If I tell myself that I will achieve success, that I will achieve the great things that I want to see myself achieve, I will. It's cliché, but I just have to believe in my words. I'll write down my goals, because, "the pen is mightier than the sword." Once written, I'll post them onto my wall so I see them everyday. This year, I am going to accomplish my goals, and become a happier person. No matter if it's academic or self-involved, this year will be my year to show myself that I can do what ever it may be.
Sometime clichés are tiresome and boring, but for my resolution to a good year, a cliché will go a long way.
