The Class I Would Teach if I were a College Professor by Eric - August 2017 Scholarship Essay
If I were a college professor, the class that I would teach would ATMOS 1010: severe and unusual weather, at the University of Utah. ATMOS 1010 is an introduction to develop an understanding of the fundamental laws of nature and apply them to the atmosphere. In the class, you learn about a variety type of severe weather and weather phenomenon on how it effects our lives. The reason I would teach this class is that I have always been fascinated by the weather growing up, especially severe weather. The professor that taught the class was that same way as I was growing up, I so I feel like I could relate a lot to him.
I took the class in the fall of 2016 and thought the class was an absolute blast, thanks to the professor. The class was also very informative on what to do during certain weather events and what causes them. A lot of the stuff I knew before, but there were some things that I learned that I had no idea about.
During and after this class, it made me want to pass along the information that given to me. This is one of the things that I am very passionate about so I think it would be an awesome class to teach.
