My biggest goal this school year by Emmanuela - September 2020 Scholarship Essay

The world right now is in a very difficult situation. We are in the middle of a pandemic and nobody knows when it is going to end. This is causing the 2020-2021 school year to be very different. I'm glad that even though there is a deadly virus out there I'm still getting education. I'm a senior in high school and my biggest goal this year is to get many scholarships to afford college.

I'm a first generation child in my family. Both of my parents didn't get a chance to go to college and meet their education goals. They don't have the best jobs so I don't come from a wealthy family. I want to do better than them. I have two younger siblings that look up to me. This means that I have to be an overachiever. I'm an AB honor roll student and I have a 3.8 GPA. All that is remaining is getting scholarships.

I was blind the past three years of high school. I didn't know that you had to sign up for scholarships. I thought they just gave them to you like Kenya, where I'm from. During this quarantine period is when I found out how scholarships really work. Thus I've been trying to make as good efforts as possible.

This is how my goal of getting many scholarships was born. This scholarship is my target. Putting it on my secured scholarship list is my goal.
