Throughout my life I have been lucky enough to receive an education. This is a privilege that many don’t have. Having an education is meaningful to me because ultimately it is something that has helped me excel at life and has prepared me for the future. It has truly been something that has made me who I am. It has challenged me and pushed me in all aspects of my life. I have become a better person and will forever carry the knowledge that my education has provided me. It is something that I will always have because education is more than just math and science. When I hear the word education, I don’t just think of studying material or taking tests, I think of the many lessons and skills that can be learned when receiving an education. This good mix of both knowledge and real-life skills is what makes having an education so special. Education is meaningful to me because it sets you up for success in the future, it can’t be taken away from you, and it can help you to function well in society.

Firstly, education will set you up for the best chance of having a successful future. Many jobs in today's world require that you have some form of education. Whether it be a high school diploma or a college degree it all is important to set you up for future success. Without education you would be left figuring out everything on your own, which can be difficult when you don’t have resources to reach out to. Education is a great guide for life that can lead you to get good jobs in the future. Many jobs are open to you if you have an education. Jobs like teaching, cosmetology, and accounting are just some of the many jobs you can get after receiving an education. Having an education shows that you worked hard and are educated. Employers will see your education and be more likely to give you a job because of the education you have received. It gives you an advantage to others applying for that same job. Having an education is one of the best ways to help set you up for success in the future.

Secondly, an education cannot be taken away from you. Earning a degree or a diploma shows your work ethic and that you accomplished something. Even if the degree was destroyed in some way, it is public record that you achieved that degree. An education will always stick with you. This is helpful for many to know in a world where everything comes and goes. It will always be something that you can look back on and see your accomplishments. Having something that you worked hard for never being taken away from you is very meaningful to me because it’s a feat I know I achieved. Additionally, the knowledge gained through education can be used in all aspects of day-to-day life. In school you often work with teachers or students who can be difficult. Having this experience working with others can teach you to better interact with difficult people in your daily life. It also can help you make better financial decisions because you will have the skills to know what to look out for when making these decisions. These skills are learned in school and once they are learned those skills will always stay with you. An education will always be an achievement you can look back on and that will never be taken from you.

Lastly, having an education can help you to function well in society. During school you are constantly having deadlines, interacting with peers, and dealing with constantly changing environments. In the modern-day world, you will always have deadlines like work assignments or bills due. Education teaches you how to meet these deadlines on time. In school you constantly are interacting with your peers. An education teaches you to communicate better and be able to discuss important issues happening in the world. It is meaningful that education can provide you with the skills needed to function well in society. Without these skills or the guidance education can provide, many wouldn’t be able to function well in society. Furthermore, you are constantly thrown into a changing environment. This experience is helpful because we live in an ever-changing world. Nothing stays the same forever and having an education that prepares students for this is beneficial to function well in society.

In conclusion, an education can set you up for a successful future, it can’t be taken away from you, and helps you function better in society. Education is a privilege to have. Many people aren’t lucky enough to be provided with a free education. Having an education means that you have a better chance at having and navigating a successful future. I wouldn’t have the skills or knowledge I have now if I hadn't received an education. Having an education means that I get to have a future where I can thrive on my own and follow my dreams.
