Yearbook Quote by Emily - November 2018 Scholarship Essay

My senior yearbook quote would be "I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them" -Andy Bernard, "The Office". I would pick this quote because "The Office" is my favorite show, and because I find this quote to be sadly true, especially for those of us that are graduating this year. This quote describes how I feel about high school and my future. Many of my classmates are in such a hurry to grow up and to graduate. They do not realize that everything is about to change. After graduation, friends will start to drift away, because everyone will be going their separate ways and moving on with their own lives. All of the football games, parties, and school dances will just be memories one day.
School may seem like the worst thing ever right now, but high school is actually the easy part, and the difficult parts of life are coming. My brother graduated two years ago, and it was just yesterday that he told me, "I wish I could still go to school everyday instead of work and college." I think that seniors should enjoy every moment they have at school before they walk across the stage, and cherish everyone that helped make high school a little easier. Take time to talk with your classmates, teachers, and friends, because it may be the last time to see them. I will always cherish the memories I made with my friends, and will always be thankful for the teachers that taught me everything I know and inspired me to try my hardest and put my heart and soul into everything I do. I wish I didn't have to leave the good old days at the end of this year, but I'm excited to see what the future holds for me.
