The Part of My College Experience That I Will Be Most Thankful For by Emily - November 2016 Scholarship Essay
College is a very unique and wonderful experience for all who opt to go further their education. It is an exciting time for a young person, because they are getting to know themselves and are getting the chance to develop their interests. Personally, I am very thankful for the opportunity to go to college, and I think I will enjoy the experience as a whole. While the college experience is made up of many great components, I will be most thankful for the chance to grow and mature myself and my interests in my new found state of independence.
One of the most appealing parts of college for any young person is the chance to move out and away from home. College is the first real taste of freedom that I will get, and I will be so thankful for that. While I love my parents and am grateful for all of the things they have done for me, I am excited for the opportunity to grow as a person and an adult by myself. All of the new responsibility will teach me how to function on my own after I graduate, and that is one of the most important lessons any young adult can learn. I want to be as prepared as possible for navigating the real world on my own, and I feel as though going away to college and having the chance to be fully independent will help me really mature into an adult.
College not only will help me mature as a person; it will help my interests mature. Right now I have an idea of what I want to do with my life, but I am still very young. At college, I will be able to really explore my interests and ultimately decide what I want my career to be. I will be beyond thankful for this part of the college experience, because I want to have a future that includes a fulfilling career that I love. College will better equip me to make this huge and incredibly important decision.
I know for sure that when I go to college, I will grow into the person I am meant to be. I will be more mature, better equipped for my future, and more confident in my interests and abilities. This is the greatest part of the college experience for me, and I am so thankful that I will have the opportunity to go. I can't wait to see where my college experience will lead me; I know that my future looks bright. Education is extremely valuable, and college is like a launching pad that blasts you into the grandness of the real world, after you get the chance to grow as a person and your interests get the chance to mature of course.
