Communication is the Backbone of a Successful Education by Emiliano - February 2023 Scholarship Essay

Since the earliest days of humankind humans have been social creatures. The reason for our successful creation of civilization is that humans can think rationally and communicate our thoughts to others. Without communication, humans would not be able to collaborate and create the world that we know. One of the oldest examples of lack of communication is in the Bible's example of the Tower of Babbel. Genesis claims that the Babylonians aspired to establish their reputation by creating a powerful metropolis and a tower "with its peak in the skies." God interfered with the task by making the workers' languages so different that they were no longer able to communicate with one another. In education and in the workplace, the importance of communication cannot be overstated.

At all educational levels, students must be able to communicate effectively, making it one of the most important life skills to learn. Students who lack effective communication skills face the danger of slipping behind their peers, experiencing emotional exhaustion, or even withdrawing from the classroom. People with good communication skills can influence people more favorably and have more lucid talks both verbally and in writing. Having strong interpersonal skills, such as effective communication skills, can help students succeed in a changing job market, technological breakthroughs, and more challenging competition in both colleges and the workplace. Effective oral and written communication skills are essential for academic achievement. Depending on the tone of our voices during a conversation, communication can have varied forms, meanings, and contexts. Additionally, slow, clear articulation can help your audience understand the significance of your message, whereas imprecise articulation can result in a lack of understanding. The art of being authentic is a vital communication skill for students in the college world. Students in the field of education are adept at spotting dishonesty among educators. Transparency, creativity, and a sincere connection to one another are the building blocks of real relationships. We must speak with others in our actual, honest voice, which is easier for others to understand and accept since it reflects who we truly are. In school morale, engagement, productivity, and satisfaction are all increased through effective communication. Better team collaboration and cooperation also depend on effective communication. Throughout school, you will be required to ask for information, talk about issues, offer instructions, work in teams, and communicate with peers. Effective teamwork and cooperation require strong interpersonal skills, which are crucial. A lot of things need to be considered if you want to communicate effectively in such a diverse environment, especially as the school becomes broader. The clarity in communication and the ability to comprehend others allow for more efficient work, which benefits the student. In the end, good communication leads to improved performance on students' education.
