Arizona by Elva - April 2016 Scholarship Essay

Throughout my 18 years of life experience there is many things I’ve learned: from not trusting people to going all out in whatever it was I decided to do. But one main thing that has maintained with me throughout most of my life time is trying. If it wouldn’t had been that id actually put effort into what I did I would be nowhere.
To begin with something I’d say to anyone and remind myself constantly is to have perseverance in whatever they do. So what is something I’d tell my peers? It’s to try. When things get hard as in my case I tried harder than I had ever before. After my father’s passing I had the option of either giving up and stop focusing but instead I set goals for myself and pushed myself to maintain the A’s and B’s I had . Did I accomplish it? Of course. In my attempt to continue on I had obstacles but did I give up, no.
Even though I felt like dropping everything I didn’t. In most harsh situations, I knew that I was possible of overcoming it because I knew what I was capable of doing. Making an effort to do something at your best can sometimes have the best outcome out of it. People have it worse at times and by the act that they actually have perseverance and the actual effort they put into it, it leads to great things. There is many things I’d tell my peers but something that has made a big change in my life is trying for what I want to accomplish. We are in charge of our future, so whenever you feel like giving up remember why you started and continue to try and strive for your goals.
