My Mentor by Ella - January 2025 Scholarship Essay

Someone that has had the biggest impact on my education journey is my dad. My dad has always pushed me to be the best and try my hardest in everything I do, which carried on to my success in school. If I ever get a B in one of my classes, he tells me to ask for extra credit or to go above and beyond on the assignments that I have already given. My dad has set high expectations for me and my siblings, which have helped us tremendously in the long run. My brother is now in his Junior year of college with over a 3.5 GPA. Any chance he can get, my dad will check in with both of us and make sure that we are doing well and ask us if we need any help. I struggled a lot with my math last year, but he sat down with me and explained whatever he could to me so that I could get my grade up. The thought of going to college next year is very scary but I am confident enough that I can have someone to rely on when I need help with anything that has me stumped. I am very thankful for my dad and all of his help throughout my educational career.
