Teaching a Web Development class. by Elijah - August 2017 Scholarship Essay

If I were a college professor, I would teach a web development class. The reasoning for this choice is based on three concepts; I received excellent grades in that field, I do web development for my job, and I have a passion for it.
A bit of backstory for this, during my first out of three web development class I learned how to use HTML and CSS. At the time I also was learning how to do 3D modeling and I believe that the combination helped develop my ability for front-end design. During my second web development class, I learned how to use JavaScript, this was coupled with two other programming classes. These were my first programming classes and the combination built a strong base in programming logic.
Soon after all this, a personal friend hired me to make him a membership website. Sadly the whole thing didn't go anywhere for me, but I did develop skills in PHP, a server-side programming language. My final web development class was supposed to teach me server-side programming, which is something I already knew. This allowed me to strengthen what I already knew and experiment with what I did not.
Now to present day, I have a job as a web developer working for small businesses. My personal recommendation for those that I would theoretically teach one day is simply this, experiment and have fun with learning.
