Technology: Shifting the Classrom Culture Code by elictia - January 2020 Scholarship Essay

Efficiency is everything so taking time out of the equation is the greatest perk of academic technology. Things that used to take a tremendous amount of time like researching, writing and communicating with others outside of verbal interaction are now immediate. This sort of upgrade in the classroom is priceless and has shifted the classroom culture for the better. This new culture code allows coursework to be completed in a fraction of the time. In many instances, it has allowed a large portion of what you need to be successful in your scholastic endeavors to be accessed by your fingertips. These are strides that have helped us achieve higher levels of success not only as students, but in terms of connection with professors, and fellow comrades in the classroom.

Additionally, there's a ripple effect of sorts that manifests in the technologically sound academic culture. Better scholastic relationships can translate into greater scores, these higher marks can provoke a greater desire to fulfill assignments in a timely manner with a considerable passion to be the best one can be. Isn't this like a puzzle piece that every student and teacher would want to make sure is included in their jigsaw box? I think so!

Finally, it's important to note, as the saying goes, 'time is money'. That translates into gas money, time that one can be at work versus the library researching, time with family, time doing extra-curricular activities, etc. Technology in the classroom has allowed life to be more complete. This in my estimation creates well-rounded students. As we all know learning is not simply a matter of pencil and paper but rather application and this is a critical component. With technology, students have a greater portion of time to apply some of their scholastic knowledge to life. In the end, technology is creating a foundation for students like myself that will continue to help shift the very fabric of life from this generation forward. This classroom culture code can be decoded by using the pronoun 'everything'!
