The greatest teacher by Elena - January 2025 Scholarship Essay

In my sophomore year of high school, I decided I wanted to become a Physical Therapist. I always found the medical field interesting but didn't want to go into anything with nursing. I researched different careers and Physical therapy was the one I settled on. I then saw there was an opportunity to apply for a program for Physical Therapy that would last from my junior year to my senior year of high school. I applied, wrote my essay, and was admitted into the program. After I got into the program I went to an open house to meet the teachers. The teacher for my junior year was a female and the teacher for my senior year would be a male. The female teacher was the one I looked forward to having. She was very nice and let us look at the equipment that Physical Therapists use on an everyday basis. I was very excited to see what the next two years would be like.
On my first day of the program, I was excited but nervous at the same time. This was a dual enrollment class and I was nervous I wouldn't be able to keep up with the workload. My teacher then reassured everyone that it was going to be okay and no one would have to drop out. She gave us her email and said she was available anytime for any questions or concerns. I was very grateful for this because I typically can ask a lot of questions. She kept her promise as well. Any time I had a question I could just send an email and I would be less confused. When it came to tests she always told us how to study properly to get the best grade on it. She always gave us resources and materials for us to Ace the test. During lessons, she always made sure she incorporated personal stories from her experience working as a Physical Therapist which would give me great insight into this career. This teacher has impacted me and is the main factor in why I am going to become a Physical Therapist.
