A New Opportunity by Edith - October 2022 Scholarship Essay

What does education mean to me? Education means an opportunity. An opportunity to make our world a better place. An opportunity to learn more about those around us and those far away. Education is a chance to start over and a chance to pursue our interests in a more in-depth way.
For some students, their education is a chance to begin again. So many people struggle with bad home lives or hindering disabilities and being able to study and focus at school is an outlet. It can be an outlet to relieve stress and to focus on something better than what they could be going through. As someone who personally struggles with anxiety, I find school to be a perfect opportunity to express myself and not worry about outside stressors. Education is a great first, second, or countless chance for anyone who is interested in its pursuit.
Next, education is a beautiful path for those who have specific interests. Education in the world today is blossoming in its accessibility and helpfulness. Students can partake in online courses, which makes it much more achievable and realistic. Being a scholar is a lifelong commitment, and those who are devoted can be lifelong learners. Education means a chance to go deeper than surface-level and to explore the reality of specific subjects. It is a beautiful path.
To conclude, accessing an education is essential in my opinion. I am a very strong advocate for scholarships and financial aid because I think education should have a place in everyone’s life. The chance to start over and the chance to dive deeper are chances I believe everyone deserves. Education means opportunity.
