Most Thankful for Challenging Academics by eden - November 2016 Scholarship Essay

Throughout my life, I have been an ambitious overachiever with huge goals. I love to accomplish a task to the best of my abilities. Although there are several amazing parts of college, such as the brisk mornings I will experience on my way to class, the frightening yet vital independence of living on my own, and the wonderful ability to spread my wings and soar off into the expansive horizon of adulthood. However, there is one part of college that makes all of the others fade into oblivion: the challenging nature of the academics and being molded into a better student.
I have recently been accepted into Oklahoma State University’s Honors College. I know its classes are going to be difficult and demanding. However, I am confident that it will be the part of my college experience for which I will be the most thankful. Throughout my middle and high school careers, I have gravitated towards teachers that want to see their students perform at the highest level of their capabilities, and I absolutely love to learn. School is one of the most important aspects of my life. I have always enjoyed studying and working hard. Even in elementary school, acing my projects and tests was hugely important to me. I have never been happy with a sub-par grade.
When I receive a high score on a test or assignment, the joyful feeling I experience is unparalleled. A hard worker is who I am. Much of my confidence is found in my ability to learn, and I will be immensely thankful for the ability to take the challenging classes at the honors college of my university. There is nothing more compelling in my life than my quest for knowledge. I will be extremely thankful to attend the academically challenging classes available in college.
