Time for Everything by Dyamond - April 2016 Scholarship Essay

Many may think this is one of those typical time management essays but it's not, this is based completely off of my own experience. I am sure we were all told there is a time and place for everything but most times that advice goes in one ear and out of the other. But my sophomore year I had the bright idea to take AP European history, a class and subject in which I did not care about, I just wanted to take it to say I took an AP course. I took the class knowing I did not really care and I still decided that I wanted a "social life" I neglected my homework and spent most time with people who were not in the class and could care less; there were times when I had a block of time where I had nothing to do and I did nothing and I almost did not pass the class or the AP exam but my teacher talked to me and I stated blocking off time to do my work and ask for help. I learned that the party I wanted to go to could wait and if I get my work out of the way I could go on with my weekends without thinking I am going to be grounded for failing a class.
There is a time and place for everything and once you get what you need to do out of the way you can do what you want to do. No one is perfect so this requires a little messing up. There may very well come a day that you choose a party over homework and that is ok if you allow yourself time to make it up.
