Diversity of Education by Dustin - January 2015 Scholarship Essay

The ability allowing a person to clearly explain the topic in which they are discussing in multiple ways is a gift that few people achieve. Teachers are professionals that have to address this vary issue every day with every individual they touch. “Students” is a very general term that describes a group of extremely diverse Children and adults alike. Within that diverse group is a subcategory of diversity in learning style. For instance, it might be effective for one person to read about a subject, whereas others might be more able to learn in hands on situations. In order to be an effective educator in such a diverse situation, the teacher has to have an effective, yet diverse teaching style.

The educator will of course not be able to learn to be an effective and diverse educator right away. It takes time and years of work for a teacher to have the experience in order to be this effective. It can be very helpful for these educators to take advantage of the resources at their fingertips to achieve the experience. Such resources can come in forms of mentors, continuing education and etc. Just remember, not every student is the same. Some are more difficult than others, but instead of getting overwhelmed, embrace the challenge and become a better education for it.
