If you were to write a book, what would it be about and why?]]]]] by Donna - June 2014 Scholarship Essay
If I were to write a book, it would be an exaggeration on a group of friends that I have and some crazy things that we used to do. I would tell of the places that we visited and the make up the paranormal things that we were never able to find in real life.
Our group was called UPD, the University Paranormal Detectives. Our first ever adventure was to visit the gravesite of the last person to play “Aunt Jemima” for the pancake company. We found out that she was buried about forty-five minutes from where we all lived. Nothing paranormal ever happened on any of our adventures, but they were great times with amazing friends. To make the books more enjoyable for a reader, I would add paranormal encounters into our escapades.
I kept a journal of our adventures and the places that we visited. We even have a scrapbook of crazy pictures. I believe that writing about something that you have experienced and the people that you care about, even if you embellish it a little, makes your stories more engaging and enjoyable for your audience. If you feel very passionate about something, it will come out in your writing.
Everyone has that group of friends that they would do anything for. Writing about the adventures that I shared with this group would be enjoyable and I believe that it would be funny and entertaining for readers.
