Dear Scholarship Committee,

My name is Diego Salas, a recent high school graduate, where I upheld an exemplary GPA of 3.5 while actively participating in various school and community programs. I am looking forward to my freshman year at Rogue Community College, and then at College of The Redwoods, where I plan to major in Emergency Medical Services/Paramedic studies.

As a proud member of the Hispanic/Latino community, I carry with me a rich cultural heritage filled with stories of hard work, dedication, passion, and an unwavering commitment to personal and community advancement. This heritage is a powerful motivator and has instilled in me an exceptional drive to succeed academically, dedication to community service, and a deep-rooted aspiration for a career in emergency medical services.

The global pandemic reiterated the importance of trained paramedical professionals in handling complex medical emergencies and supporting communities' healthcare needs. It was during these unprecedented times, when I realized my passion in the medical field was not just a career choice, but a commitment towards my community. By providing immediate medical assistance, paramedics play a critical role in saving lives and reducing human suffering. As an aspiring paramedic, I am determined to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute positively to this noble profession.
