Navigating the academic world can be a journey filled with challenges, each one a stepping stone towards growth and learning. My most challenging academic experience came during my first year of graduate studies in Public Health at Northeastern University. It was a period that tested my resilience, adaptability, and determination to succeed in a field I am deeply passionate about.
During my first semester, I enrolled in a course on epidemiology, a subject that is central to public health but was entirely new to me. The course was rigorous, with a demanding workload that included complex statistical analyses and a deep dive into the principles of disease spread and control. As a student who had always excelled in my undergraduate courses, I was initially confident in my ability to handle the material.
