Self Perception. by Diana - December 2022 Scholarship Essay

2022 was already a little crazy with more of Covid, missiles being launched and even the death of some family members. I’ve learned to realize; Each day is a blessing. Yes, our feelings play a big part in our everyday life but so does your own perceptions of events. Situations happen, they build us…something we call “character.” A quote I seen the other day stated “The same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It’s what you’re made of, not the circumstances.”
Being someone who is always misunderstood, I speak through my music. It gives me the confidence to encourage someone else even during my darkest moments. I have music out now, under the name “Immanie”. I want to spread a positive message across the nation about lending a helping hand, having compassion, and just simply thanking the creator for our well-being. I plan on not just learning for myself but to even teach the next generation. Through my music, I am able to spread the word and also stand in happiness through whatever comes my way. If there was something I could’ve told my young self or even speak to that little girl out in the cold world, I would say “You’re here for a reason, find out”.
