Photography helped my education by Devin - September 2017 Scholarship Essay

In my freshman year of high school I was forced by my school to have some kind of fine art credit. We had many different choices such as art which was just drawing, or a clay making class. I thought I wouldnt enjoy that class because getting my clothes dirty everyday didnt sound good to me. I decided to take a photography class instead, I thought it would be easy I could do it one year and get it over with. However, little did I know I would need this photography skill a few years down the road.
I am now in the works to further my education into college, im trying to recieve a golf scholarship from some type of college. In order for coaches to learn what kind of golfer I am they request videos and pictures of my golf swing. This "useless" skill in photography finally came into play. I was able to create videos and pictures with the best angles and adjust the lightening, the same thing I was taught in my photography class.
Needless to say, the skill I learned three years ago and thought I would never use, fianlly had some use, and now I only have my school to thank for that.
