If this year has taught me anything, it would be that everything happens for a reason. This lesson has shaped my perspective on life and my future in ways I never expected. As a rising high school senior with a 3.81 GPA, I am preparing to take the next big step in my education. I am applying to colleges like Georgia State University, New York University, San Diego State University, Emory University, Pace University - New York, Florida A & M University, Clark Atlanta University, and Marymount Manhattan College. My goal is to major in Nursing and make a difference in the world.

This year has been challenging for everyone, but it has also been a time of growth and reflection for me. The pandemic disrupted my daily routine and forced me to adapt to new ways of learning and connecting with others. It was not easy, but it taught me resilience and the importance of staying positive even when things do not go as planned. I realized that setbacks are not the end of the world; they are opportunities to learn and grow.

One of the most important lessons I learned this year is that everything happens for a reason. At first, I struggled to understand why things were happening the way they were. I felt frustrated and overwhelmed by the uncertainty of the future. But over time, I began to see that every challenge I faced was a chance to become stronger and more capable. I learned to trust the process and have faith that everything would work out in the end.

This lesson has had a profound impact on my outlook on life and my future career in nursing. As a nurse, I will encounter many difficult situations and have to make tough decisions. Knowing that everything happens for a reason will help me stay calm and focused, even in the most stressful circumstances. It will remind me that every patient I care for is an opportunity to make a positive impact and that every challenge I face is a chance to grow as a professional.

My interest in nursing comes from my passion for helping others and making a difference in people's lives. This year, I had the opportunity to volunteer at a local clinic, where I saw firsthand the impact that compassionate and skilled nurses can have on their patients. I was inspired by their dedication and the way they made each patient feel cared for and valued. This experience reinforced my desire to pursue a career in nursing and showed me that this is the path I am meant to take.

As a Hispanic and Black woman, I understand the importance of representation in the healthcare field. I want to be a role model for young girls who look like me and show them that they can achieve their dreams, no matter what obstacles they face. I believe that diversity in healthcare is essential for providing the best care to all patients, and I am committed to being a part of that change.

Moving forward, I will carry the lesson that everything happens for a reason with me in all aspects of my life. It will help me stay focused and motivated as I work towards my goals, and it will remind me to stay positive even when things get tough. I am excited to start this next chapter of my life and to continue growing and learning as I pursue my dream of becoming a nurse.

In conclusion, this year has taught me the invaluable lesson that everything happens for a reason. This lesson has shaped my perspective on life and my future career in nursing. It has taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of staying positive. I am confident that this lesson will help me succeed in college and beyond, and I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have brought me to this point. Thank you for considering my application for the Varsity Tutors College Scholarship Contest.
