Ten years from now I see myself owning my own restaurant. I always wanted too because I have always been smart with money, I learned a lot about cooking from my school, and my relatives taught me from home. It has always been my passion to build a restaurant from the ground up. I even know what I am going to call it, “The Spot”, it has a nice ring to it. Education will take me far in the restaurant business. Since my ninth grade year I’ve been taking finance and cooking classes.
My teachers have taught me a lot about finance like managing money, controlling your budget, and learning how to take risks as a business owner. I have taken leadership skills as an online class, which has helped me out a lot. As a business owner you have to communicate with your employees to build a positive relationship. Without positive things happening in your company most likely your business is going to go downhill. I also learned there can’t be any fear as a business owner. My finance class held a FBLA Competition that really helped me out a lot with my confidence. Going out on the stage and talking to the judges and explaining why they should buy my business.
I have had a lot of training in this field and it is the path that I will pursue. I have the tools and the intellect to own a successful restaurant. These things that I have mentioned above is one of the reasons I will one day own my restaurant ten years from now.
