The Aspect of My Education That I am Most Thankful For by david - November 2015 Scholarship Essay

Although every aspect of my education is extremely important to me, I am most thankful for my participation in DECA. As a marketing major, it has allowed me challenges and has encouraged me to think out of the box. I strive for excellence in all areas of school but Deca has allowed me to motivate other.
Our chapter of Deca has about 350 students. It has been an honor for me to serve as a Vice-President and on the Executive Board. It is in mu soul to help train others to reach their potential and their successes.
While in tenth grade, my team placed third in the State competition. With a little refinement, we placed 1st in my junior year. This did not stop me! Internationally, my partner and myself placed in the top 20 for Team Decision Making. This was a huge accomplishment beating out hundreds of other teams from the United States and other countries.
Without my education, I would never have been exposed to DECA. My courses in Marketing Essentials, Marketing Applications, and AICE Business has helped prepare me for my future career in Marketing. I am most thankful for Ms. Susan May, Marketing Coordinator at Wellington High School, and my participation in DECA.
