The organization I am in is AVID ( Advancement Via Individual Determination) in La Quinta High School. It has impacted my life for 3 years in high school. It helps me exceed better in my school work and be prepared for college. AVID takes a lot of responsibility, leadership, organized, and communication.
The responsibility part is to make sure we are on task and on top of our work. The leadership is to take a part of yourself to express what should feel right and take chances. The organization part is to be simple and tidy of our work and be prepared to turn in our work and never lose our work. Communication is a huge factor for the organization. It helps us to communicate with the teacher and students to get the work that we needed to try to work something out when you would not be there for that day.
AVID helps your time management from studying and doing your work at the same time. It will help us from getting into college and stop procrastinating. Sometimes, AVID goes on field trips to colleges and explore the campuses and student life. This year we went to the California State University of San Bernardino the main campus and in the small little campus in Palm Desert. I can learn a lot from just going to these campuses like this and experience what the college student can go through.
So AVID has been part of my life for 3 years and I would not forget the days we spent together about the steps we need to take for applying to college.
