Leadership skills are necessary for college success because it determines a student’s dependability and allows the student to grow in numerous ways. Being a leader means being the decision-maker, the organizer, the time-keeper, and the one that other students can always count on. These traits are what it takes for a student to be successful in college.

In college classes, students are asked to complete work tasks that may be out of their comfort zone and cause them to be in a place of discomfort. This is when being a leader kicks in. Once students start to show that they have these capabilities, it proves that they are growing through the college process. Although this process and change in atmosphere may be a difficult one, these skills can help them to transform this atmosphere into a place of comfort. When it comes to group tasks, the leader is not only the one that is looked to among the group, but the person that includes everyone in the share of qualities that a leader possesses.

Every student has what it takes to be a leader. At some point in their lives, especially in college, they will have to be a leader in order to gain that success and achieve their dreams.
