My dream in life is to build up people's confidence and self worth through psychiatry. I plan to nurture every client I have in order to build them up to be their very best self. This desire to help others sprouted from my own experience with psychiatry. I have grown so much as a person since I first started seeing my psychiatrist, and I want others to be able to feel themselves grow better as a human being like I did. This nurturing, or cultivation, of yourself through the help of others is what drew me to my decision on my course in life. If I am able to help even a single person reach their greatest potential, I have succeeded.

The mental health crisis of young students is appalling. I have seen close friends and family destroy themselves for, seemingly, no reason. But what others may see as out of the blue I see as just simply the result of a life of struggle. Young people, and students especially, are ruining themselves in the whirlpool of their social life and personal life. And what I have seen in my life relates to how I want to better the world. As the CDC states, “Over 1 in 5 youth (ages 13-18) either currently or at some point in their life, have had a seriously debilitating mental illness.” While the declining mental health of young people is because of a multitude of reasons, the betterment of mental health comes down to the older generation. In order to help these children, we need experienced psychiatrists who can give them the help they need. That is how I want to help this horrible situation.
