LET ME OUT!!!!!!! by Danielle - May 2014 Scholarship Essay

I feel like everyone gets the advice of "get out there!" But what does that really mean? For most it means, join clubs, make friends, and be social. Educationally though to me it means to broaden my horizon, test my limits, and see how much I can really stuff in my brain. At first college was just a place to go to have the best time of your life and be as social as you'll ever be but being there for a year I realized it is where I am to grow more than I ever have before. I want to get out of the bubble and learn as much as I can. I want to enter every class knowing I am going to walk out having learned something new that I will be able to use for the rest of my life.

When getting a higher education we should not just be focused on the degree but rather going to learn. We should want to take something away from each class instead of just wanting to pass each class. Getting out there and soaking up all that our professors have to offer could be one of the best decisions we make in life. For everything we do has a spiral effect and once we start making better decisions we make a path for a brighter future.
